Taiwan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (5425) has once again been recognized at the 18th Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA) in 2025, receiving the Silver Award in the Sustainability Reporting – Electronics and Information Manufacturing category. This marks the company’s second consecutive year winning the award, highlighting its solid achievements in information transparency, sustainability performance, and the advancement of governance practices. Taiwan Semiconductor was honored in its first year of participation and once again secured top recognition this year, indicating strong trust from professional judges in the quality of its sustainability report, data accuracy, and stakeholder communication.
The company’s sustainability report for this year was prepared in accordance with the GRI, TCFD, and SASB Semiconductor Standards, while simultaneously strengthening data governance processes to enhance the consistency, transparency, and traceability of its sustainability performance. In 2024, Taiwan Semiconductor delivered several concrete outcomes across the three ESG dimensions:
Environment
- Renewable energy usage reached 50,108 GJ, accounting for 23% of total energy consumption.
- Multiple energy-saving improvement projects were implemented, resulting in a 223.1-ton reduction in CO₂e emissions.
- The company’s CDP Water Security rating improved from D (Disclosure) in 2023 to C (Awareness) in 2024.
Social
- Joined the “TALENT, in Taiwan” talent sustainability alliance to strengthen long-term talent development.
- Achieved an average of 50.9 training hours per employee.
- Continued to enhance workplace health initiatives and employee well-being programs, with overall progress improving year by year.
Governance
- Board self-assessment and external evaluation indicators increased by 20%, reflecting strengthened governance effectiveness.
- Completed expanded certification of ISO 27001:2022, enhancing information security resilience.
- Invested NT$126 million in R&D in 2024, representing 3% of revenue, demonstrating the company’s commitment to innovation as a driver of long-term competitiveness.
