PerFET™ POWER MOSFET 40V Family Overview

Taiwan Semiconductor introduces PerFET™ (NH Series), a family of products built on proprietary device structures and processes that enable exceptionally low on-state resistance and switching figure-of-merit (FOM – Qg*R); putting this portfolio at the industry leading edge of performance. The process of PerFET™ is AECQ Qualified and available for automotive applications. This initial 40V N-channel platform includes options for both standard level (10V) and logic level (5V) gate-drive requirements while preserving rugged safe-operating resistance to switching voltage transients and avalanche concerns in switching applications.

LOWER TEMPERATURE COEFFICIENT
  • The RDS(ON) value at temperatures of -50°C to 175°C presented less variation.
  • Reduce conduction loss at high temperature operation environment.
LOWER PARASITIC CAPACITANCE
  • 40 % lower Ciss and 90 % lower Crss compared with previous generation.

PACKAGES

PDFN56U is a TSC-designed SMT type 5mm x 6mm size package with options for both single and dual die configuration for automotive application. Its wettable flank leads improved solder joint reliability and AOI’s accuracy during PCB assembly process. PDFN56U is not only compatible with conventional SOP-8 footprint but also mainstream 5×6 packages in the market (QFN56, DFN56 and LFPAK56 …. etc).

APPLICATION

PerFET™ 40V POWER MOSFET IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION IN SMPS APPLICATIONS
TSM032NH04L achieves a much better efficiency performance compared to TSM033NB04L at 300W converter with synchronous rectification.

PerFET™ compared with the NB series applied in the SYNC-Buck converter with 240kHz to 440kHz switching frequency, it reduces the switching losses and increases efficiency.
